Yesterday, Ryan and I had a very relaxing Saturday. In fact, I wish all Saturdays could be that relaxed! We started our day off with Jack in tow and took him to the White Rock dog park. Jack made a variety of friends and even took a "special interest" to one little girl pup (a precious 6 month old Bichon). And by "special interest" I mead that he proceeded to mount her (even though they were both fixed) any chance he got. Gosh, talk about feeling like a bad dog parent! Yep, that would be our dog... what can I say? He's all boy, 6 lbs and all :) Thankfully, all of the other dog parents found it hilarious and we all laughed it off. After the dog park, Jack was one hot mess (mud, water, lots of slobber) so we took him to our favorite grooming spot, The Pooch Patio (Sundays are bottomless mutt-mosas and you can bring your dog). After we dropped him off, we had breakfast and ran a ton of errands.
Our last stop before picking Jack up was to run by Macy's. As we're stepping off the escolator and walking into the store, who do we see? It was none other than one of Ryan's buddies (and his wife) from his grad school days at Georgia! Talk about a blast from the past! Although he and I didn't get off to the greatest start when we met four years ago, we ended up having a great dinner and conversation with him and his very sweet wife at a great little Italian place, Taverna in Uptown. The boys were able to catch up and his wife and I found out we actually have a ton in common.
Hopefully we will get to see them again soon either here in Dallas or in Waco!

A (YOUNG) Professor's Wife
Hi All,
I wonder what your first thought is after reading that title? The facts...I am young, 25 in fact. I am a newlywed (6-10-11), in love, and I am married to a (YOUNG) Business professor at a research university in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Anytime somebody asks me what my husband does I tell them he's a professor and I immediately see their wheels turning. They all think I've married a 50 year old! I have to laugh because Ryan (the hubs and professor) is only 30. We are just a young, newly married couple enjoying our first year of marriage all the while juggling not one, but TWO new jobs, a new dog, and a new state (for Ryan). Anytime someone has a life change it's stressful but when you complile all of ours it can sometimes feel just a tad overwhelming.
That's why I'm here, writing this now. I hope to write about all of our experiences as newlyweds and all of our adventures together.
